Why is urine so difficult to eradicate? Animals and human urine both consist of urea, creatinine, uric acid, inorganic salts (such as sodium potassium) ammonia, calcium, magnesium, and nature's own bacteria.
Dogs and cats often eat horrible things. At least, things horrible to us; a mouse's head, a snake, raw liver, dad's slippers and more. Even some commercially canned cat and dog food contain meat and meat by products with lots of excess protein that is not always utilized.
In order for an animal to digest this assortment of items, their body also produces a large number of natural occurring bacteria. When these bacteria are deposited along with the waste, they give off an ammonia vapor into the air this is why the eyes water and your throat choke when exposed to too much animal urine. These bacteria are often pathogenic (causing disease) and need to be removed.
Consequently a large number of chemical compounds and bacteria are contained in animal waste and urine. And sad to say, for various reasons, these "excesses" sometimes end up on the living room carpet.
If these compounds are deposited onto the carpet they become attached tenaciously to the fibers. Normal cleaning, deodorizers, disinfectants; cannot release the uric acids, salts, etc. That become crystallized and entangled with the carpet fibers.
Special treatment is normally required to release the urine from the fibers. In many case the pad may require a special process to release the bacteria.
Night Owl has the expertise to remove these urine deposits.
